It’s your final chance to see the award-winning classic, Guys and Dolls, at Renaissance Theatre this weekend!
Set against the backdrop of New York City, this musical follows gambler Nathan Detroit as he tries to pull off the biggest craps game in town, all while dodging the law—and dealing with his long-time fiancée, Adelaide. At the same time, high-roller Sky Masterson takes a risk on love when he meets the strait-laced missionary, Sarah Brown. With a talented cast and energetic staging, this summer production captures the timeless charm of a Broadway classic that has delighted audiences for decades. Experience The Lion King like never before at the Renaissance Plaza with a free outdoor screening, Pictures on the Plaza! Bring your blanket, lawn chairs, and your favorite people for a magical night under the stars. Free popcorn will be provided. Before the movie begins, have fun with hands-on activities from Richland Academy of the Arts, Buckeye Imagination Museum, and Y on the Fly. Then, grab a refreshing drink from What The Fizz? Dirty Soda Truck. The fun happens on Wednesday, August 12, starting at 8:30 p.m.
Before the backpacks are packed and the alarms go off again, come celebrate the end of summer at Buckeye Imagination Museum! Join them for a fun-filled Back to School Bash on Friday, August 14, from 6-9 p.m. Enjoy live music, creative crafts, outdoor games, and full access to the museum to explore and play. There will also be fun giveaways and food trucks on-site to keep the good times rolling. Tickets are just $10 per person for ages 2 and up. It’s the perfect send-off to summer!
The 12th Annual Shawshank Hustle is happening on Saturday, August 15, starting at 8 a.m.!
This 4.6-mile run takes you through Mansfield’s iconic filming locations from The Shawshank Redemption.
After the race or just to celebrate, join The Phoenix Brewing Company at their Shawshank Hustle Afterparty! Doors open at 10 a.m. with craft beer, cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, live music, and a food truck onsite. Didn’t run? No problem — everyone is welcome to come and celebrate!
Happy birthday Richland Carrousel Park! Join them downtown on Saturday, August 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. as they celebrate 35 fantastic years! Spend the day enjoying fun games, prizes, and plenty of carousel rides. Test your appetite in the hot dog eating contest. Plus, compete in the best coney contest! For more info, call 419-522-4223.
Mansfield Playhouse has two exciting upcoming events that you won’t want to miss!
First up is Mansfield Blues Fest 2.0 on Saturday, August 22, 2026, with the music kicking off at 1 p.m. It’s a day full of live music and good vibes, featuring performances by Frank Boyd Jr. and the Bonafide Truth, along with the lively sounds of Wanted Alien and Cryin’ Out Loud. Enjoy delicious food from a food truck onsite and cool drinks available at the concessions stand.
If you’re a bluegrass fan, we have even more exciting news! The following weekend at The Playhouse, see the high-energy performance of Lincoln Highway Bluegrass Band, renowned for their lightning-fast playing and intricate harmonies. Plus, all proceeds from this event will benefit the Mansfield Playhouse Capital Campaign. Save the date for Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 7 p.m. Tickets are only $15 for both events. Join us downtown for the August Final Friday! From 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM on August 28, enjoy three live performances, food trucks, and plenty of fun for the whole family.
